The Deriv Partner Tiering Programme is an automatic, performance-based reward system designed to boost your earnings as you grow. It offers up to an 8% bonus on top of your standard monthly commissions, with no application forms or manual approvals required. This means you're automatically enrolled as soon as you earn your first commission.

The Deriv Partner Tiering Programme hast Four tiers: Bronze (entry level, no bonus), Silver (+4%), Gold (+6%), and Platinum (+8%) and you move through them automatically based on your earnings, with an elite Platinum+ tier offering an additional 10% quarterly bonus for partners who sustain Platinum performance across an entire calendar quarter.

Quick summary

  • Automatic enrolment: You're in the programme as soon as you earn your first commission, no application needed
  • Four growth tiers: Bronze (0%), Silver (+4%), Gold (+6%), and Platinum (+8%).
  • Rolling calculation: Your tier is based on a rolling 3-month average, not just last month’s performance. This protects your status from short-term market volatility.
  • Stackable potential earnings: You can earn your Base Commission + Monthly Tier Reward + Quarterly Performance Bonus (Platinum+ only).
  • Automated payouts: Tier rewards are credited automatically with your standard monthly commission—no invoices needed.

Understanding the 4 commission tiers

Your tier is determined by your 3-month rolling average commission. The higher your average earnings over the last quarter, the higher your bonus percentage for the current month.

Here is the breakdown of the thresholds and rewards:

Tier 3-month average commission (USD) Monthly reward bonus Eligibility
Bronze $0 – $499.99 0% Automatic entry for all new partners.
Silver $500 – $999.99 +4% Requires consistent referring activity.
Gold $1,000 – $4,999.99 +6% For established partners with active traders.
Platinum $5,000+ +8% For elite partners driving high volume.

How to calculate your partner tier (rolling average)

Many partners ask: "How is my tier calculated if my earnings fluctuate?"

Deriv uses a Rolling 3-Month Average. This acts as a safety net. If you have one bad month, your strong performance in the previous two months can keep you in a higher tier, protecting your bonus earnings.

The formula

Your tier is recalculated on the last day of every month using this logic:

(Month 1 Commission + Month 2 Commission + Month 3 Commission) ÷ 3 = Your Average

Step-by-step calculation example

Let’s say you are aiming for the Gold Tier (requires $1,000+ average), and you are currently in November.

Your historical data:

  • September: $450 (Bronze performance)
  • October: $1,200 (Gold performance)
  • November: $1,700 (Gold performance)

The calculation process:

  1. Sum the total: $450 + $1,200 + $1,700 = $3,350
  2. Divide by 3: $3,350 ÷ 3 = $1,116.66
  3. Check the grid: $1,116 is greater than $1,000 but less than $5,000.
  4. Result: You are Gold Tier for November.

Your payout: Because you are Gold, your November commission of $1,700 receives a 6% boost.

  • $1,700 × 6% = $102 Bonus.
  • Total Payout: $1,802.

Platinum+ status: how to unlock quarterly bonuses

Platinum+ is a loyalty status that rewards partners who stay at Platinum tier for a full calendar quarter with an extra earnings layer beyond monthly tier rewards.

This bonus is calculated on your Total Quarterly Earnings.

(Total Q1 Earnings) × 10% = Quarterly Bonus Payout

Platinum+ qualification rules

To qualify, you must meet two strict criteria:

  1. Maintain Platinum tier: You must be in the Platinum tier for Month 1, Month 2, and Month 3 of the quarter.
  2. Stay active: You cannot have a $0 commission month during the quarter.

The calendar quarters:

  • Q1: January – March
  • Q2: April – June
  • Q3: July – September
  • Q4: October – December

Case study

Let’s look at a Platinum+ partner earning $5,000 consistently every month in Q1.

  1. Monthly income: $5,000 Commission + $400 Tier Reward (8%) = $5,400/month.
  2. Total Q1 income: $5,400 × 3 = $16,200.
  3. The Platinum+ commission: Because they held Platinum for Jan, Feb, and Mar, they get an extra 10% on the base $15,000.
  4. Quarterly bonus: $15,000 × 10% = $1,500.

Total Earnings: $16,200 (Monthly) + $1,500 (Quarterly) = $17,700. By achieving Platinum+, this partner effectively boosted their total base commission by 18% (8% monthly + 10% quarterly).

Strategies to climb the tiers

Moving from Bronze to Silver, or Silver to Gold, requires a strategic approach to your partner business. Here are three coaching tips to increase your rolling average:

Moving from Bronze to Silver, or Silver to Gold, requires a strategic approach to your partner business. Here are three coaching tips to increase your rolling average:

  1. Focus on retention, not just acquisition: A client who trades consistently for 6 months is worth far more than 10 clients who trade once and leave.
  2. Diversify your traffic sources to protect your rolling average from dropping.
  3. Stay consistent with promotional activities every month

FAQs

Can I move up or down by more than one tier in a single month?

Yes. Your tier is reassigned each month based on your 3-month rolling average, regardless of your previous tier. You could jump from Bronze to Gold or drop from Platinum to Silver if your average changes significantly.

How is my tier determined if I start earning mid-month?

If you start earning commission partway through a month, any commissions from that date until month-end count as your monthly total towards your 3-month average.

Do commission adjustments affect my tier?

Yes. Each month's net commission (after adjustments like refunds or reversals) affects your tier calculation and 3-month average.

What if I have a $0 commission month?

Your earnings will drop to $0 for that month, lowering your 3-month average and potentially your tier. Your tier updates automatically based on performance.

Important: If you're aiming for Platinum+ status, a $0 month disqualifies you from the quarterly bonus for that calendar quarter.

What happens if my account is suspended or terminated?

  • Suspended: Tier rewards and quarterly performance bonuses are paused until your account is reactivated.
  • Terminated: Deriv will review your commission payout. Tier rewards and quarterly bonuses will only be paid if the payout is approved.

How do I receive tier rewards and quarterly bonuses?

Rewards are paid into your Deriv real trading account or Wallet account. If you don't have one, create a partner account on Partner's Hub using the same email address you used to register as a partner.
